Nicholas Charles Sparks is an American novelist, producer and screenwriter who
was born December 31, 1965 in Omaha, Nebraska. He accepted a full athletic scholarship to the University of Notre Dame and even set a school record as part of a relay team. He found himself in a rut when he had an Achilles Tendon injury. While he was going through recovery, he used his spare tie to do something else that he loved which is writing. He completed his first un-published book in 1985 which “sparked” his writing career. Nicholas Sparks quickly became one of the world’s most beloved storytellers; he has seventeen novels and one non-fiction book on the list of “New York
Times Best Selling Novels”. Sparks is continuing to write but has begun to settle down in North Carolina with his wife, three sons and twin girls. !

Although Nicholas Sparks has no real inspired any authors to follow his writing
styles, he on the other hand was inspired by some authors. He was inspired by Pat
Conroy and David Payne who wrote Early from the Dance. Both of these writers used honesty in their novels as well as remarkable commands of language. Sparks has been able to use vast variety of language in his works and he changes his style of writing to fit his novels. Because he uses his stories to explore the subject of life, in particular love, none of his novels follow the same writing style; each one is unique in its own way.
David Payne also influenced Nicholas by writing about the negative aspects of life. The deaths of Sparks’ parents inspired him to base his novels on romance, relationships and conflicts. Both of these authors and his parents are very influential to Nicholas Sparks and they make him who he is as a writer.!

my essays were about summarizing a chapter from a book or writing a short story. There was no set length it had to be and there were not any specifics to focus on such as to focus on a strong introduction or to focus on being organized when writing. The essays that I wrote in high school were just for a quick grade or to help out our grade. I did not really have that much experience in writing essays. In the past semester I have grown more as a writer than I have in the past years. My essays have…

I spent hours to figure out what to do and how to approach the task but when finished I could never acquire the grade which I most desired. This did not discourage me though; I strived to become a better writer by asking for help from my peers and professors even when I…
