1. Identify three main contributions to the war effort by women?
Answer: The women filled the jobs that the men had before they left for war and also started non-factory based work. The women also started to operate the farms. In addition to that the women also were a target of the campaigns to encourage recruits. The women also went overseas to serve in the Army Medical Corps, or as nurses and many other things at war.

2. How significant or important were these contributions? Explain why each contribution was or was not important.
Answer: The women taking over all the jobs when the men left was really important because a lot of the jobs supported their lifestyle and living. When the women were the target of campaigns I don’t think it was so important because the face of women I don’t think would really help get men to recruit. Women going overseas to help nurse and medical things is important because that shows that men are not the only ones who can do the dirty work.

3. How did the contributions of women to the war change the way women were viewed in society? Explain why.
Answer: It changed the way women were viewed in society because it showed that men didn’t do all the dirty work and the women could do it. It set the status quo of women didn’t have to rely on men and they speak for themselves and fend for themselves.
4. How well did the Wartime Elections Act of 1917 recognize the contributions of all women to the war?
Answer: It recognized the contributions really well because it gave women serving as army nurses and close female relatives of soldiers the right to vote.

5. To what extent can you see the effects of World War One on the role of women in society today? Explain your answer.
Answer: Women have more important and higher roles of work. Women can run for elections now. The women have a voice now unlike before WWI.
