What was the level of success of the Munich Conference?
Personally I think that the Munich Conference was a success for Germany, but that was the only country. This is because Czechoslovakia was the last country east of Germany with a fully democratic government. It was logical for Hitler to need to break his last direct opponent at the time. Another reason why the Munich Conference was a success was the Czechoslovakia army equipment; Czechoslovakia was well prepared for war. If Germany had gone ‘one against one’ against Czechoslovakia they would not have won, but because Germany had the British Empire and France on their side they were able to gain the Sudetenland. The rest of Czechoslovakia was supposedly protected by the British Empire and France. However not even a year later Hitler took the rest of Czechoslovakia, which broke the agreement which was agreed in the Munich Conference, at that time Hitler had two armies and was able to attack Europe.
For Czechoslovakia I think this agreement was extremely unfair because they were not asked to attend the Munich Conference. They were just told that the Sudetenland was being taken over by Germany and the rest of was to be ‘protected’ by the British Empire and France. However they were not protected for long.
