World War Two was originally a war against Japan, Germany, and Italy. This began Sept 1, 1939. The war began when Germany attacked Poland. Germany then went and destroyed six other countries. Which were Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands and France, all in a three months time, and then proceeded to conquer Yugoslavia and Greece. The Great Depression was one of the main causes of a lot of issues. This crippled the economy of both The United States and Europe, with the combination of the outcome of World War One. This led to major repositioning of world power and influence. Many countries had liberal democratic governments following World War I, but dictatorship developed during the 1920s and 1930s, which destroyed democratic rights. Many blame the Treaty of Versailles along with other peace agreements that happened after WW1. The Germans found it easiest to blame the Treaty of Versailles for their troubles.
The United States tried their best to stay neutral, and not get involved at all for the first couple of years. Through the Lend Lease Act the United States did help Great Britain, Soviet Union and China with war supplies. The United States also deployed our military to replace the Britain invasion forces in Iceland. The United States really wanted to stay out of the war, learning our lesson from World War One. Congress passed a series of Neutrality Acts between 1935 and 1939. Which were intended to prevent Americans from becoming entangled with any of the conflicts. The United States
