What is unfair trade? Practices that constitute unfair methods of competition or unfair or deceptive acts or practices. They include misrepresentation, twisting, rebating, deceptive or false advertising, inequitable claim settlement, and unfair discrimination. www.telumsden.com/Glossary.html... In other words, Unfair trade is where someone gets far more added value from your efforts than they are willing to share with you, so it is sort of like an unbalanced contract where the price paid to the worker or supplier does not fairly represent the value of their input to the process. This can happen anywhere in the world. Why is unfair trade an issue? Unfair trade is an issue, because in the cycle or producer to consumer, the people doing the most get the least. People in an undeveloped country obtain the raw materials. The developed country ‘buy’ the product to their own advantage through a ‘fair-trade’ agreement.(Meaning that they practically get the materials for free) and when producers/workers export the raw materials(they can’t make the full product Due to the high prices.) They send them through to a developed country for a fraction of what they’re worth. Who does unfair trade effect? Unfair trade affects those who get the least profit. Aka. Undeveloped countries with free trade agreements (not in their favour) e.g. http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?um=1&hl=en&safe=off&qscrl=1&rlz=1T4ADFA_enNZ438NZ438&biw=1441&bih=676&tbm=isch&tbnid=mV_9MFqsVnlpuM:&imgrefurl=http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/~renglish/370/notes/chapt14/index.htm&docid=iiWJdp3qH_yARM&imgurl=http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/~renglish/370/notes/chapt14/markups.gif&w=386&h=263&ei=akRdUJLEL4yziQf0-oDYBg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=1125&vpy=246&dur=421&hovh=185&hovw=272&tx=230&ty=79&sig=100618206785846471765&page=4&tbnh=139&tbnw=204&start=68&ndsp=26&ved=1t:429,r:25,s:68,i:367 http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?um=1&hl=en&safe=off&qscrl=1&rlz=1T4ADFA_enNZ438NZ438&biw=1441&bih=676&tbm=isch&tbnid=mV_9MFqsVnlpuM:&imgrefurl=http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/~renglish/370/notes/chapt14/index.htm&docid=iiWJdp3qH_yARM&imgurl=http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/~renglish/370/notes/chapt14/markups.gif&w=386&h=263&ei=akRdUJLEL4yziQf0-oDYBg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=1125&vpy=246&dur=421&hovh=185&hovw=272&tx=230&ty=79&sig=100618206785846471765&page=4&tbnh=139&tbnw=204&start=68&ndsp=26&ved=1t:429,r:25,s:68,i:367

Unfair trade is an issue WORLDWIDE, it may not be prominent but it’s there. It just hits some places (undeveloped) worse than the others. It affects the workers, the ones who cannot afford to export anything more than raw materials because the companies buying them expect low prices. What led to unfair trade becoming an issue? When ‘freetrade’ was introduced into the economic structure, people started to get less than they were entitled. It started when liberalization was enforced
