Abstract The purpose of this research paper is to identify how trait theory defines human personalities and dispositions, as well as its contribution to the development of leaders. In defining trait theory it will be discussed howthere are different traits among humans, and how it affects the development of a leader.The measurement of habitual patterns of human 17). In accordance to this perspective, traits are relatively stable over time, and in some instances differ across individuals (e.g. some people are outgoing whereas others are shy), and influence behavior.A trait can be thought of as a relatively stable characteristic that causes individuals to behave in certain ways. For example, a person who is shy will most likely be shy throughout life. That person’s shyness will be relatively stable over time, and will influence their behavior in the future.
Discovering Traits Theory Human traits continue to be an important aspect in the study of humans and their behaviors. It is commonly known as a theory of traits that in which helps to discover and identify human behaviors and dispositions. More importantly its purpose is to identify how personality can in a broad range of human behavior, and can provide insight to a person’s personality traits. A lot can be learned about a person by focusing on their human behavior, and trait theorists strive to understand the underlying cause of human actions; part of which can be done by gaining an understanding of a person’s mental, emotional, social and physical well-being through observation.
