Every destination has to have physical attributes in order to support the tourists. The lake Ontario is known as being one of the five Great lakes of North America. The lake contains plenty of natural resources such as, water and lakes, forests, fish and wildlife, provincial parks and protected areas, minerals and energy (fuel and electricity). As water represents the most important resource in this area, the role of the ministry of natural resources is to make sure that the water is strongly protected because it is used by the human population and is crucial for all natural ecosystems. In other words, the people of Ontario depend a lot on the Great Lakes for their drinking water.
Moreover it contributes to the economic success of the province through agriculture, commercial fishing, power generation, industry, transportation and tourism.

Furthermore there are more than 3,300 species of plants, 160 species of fish, 80 species of amphibians and reptiles, 400 species of birds, and more than 80 species of mammals.

1. Niagara-on-the-lake

The Lake Ontario is very big and surrounded by many cities and towns such as Toronto, the Niagara on the lake, Stoney Creek and so on. Niagara-on-the-Lake is surrounded by countless award-winning vineyards and wineries. The town is located on the southern shores of Lake Ontario where the Niagara River ends its journey into this famous Great Lake. It has become the selected destination of discriminating travelers from around the world.

The presence of these large lakes regulates the climate over there; summers are cooler and winters are warmer than they would be without a large body of water nearby. The lakes also increase the amount of local precipitation in the area, particularly on the downwind side of the lakes.
Infrastructure:

Niagara-on-the-Lake has an extremely close proximity to the United States border, serviced by major highway links. It also abuts the Welland Canal, a business gateway between Canada and the United States. The canal provides a direct line route for vessels traveling between the upper lakes and Montreal. Superstructure:

Due to the influx of tourists in the lake, the area is being developed even more. They are protecting the environment, improving the parks so tourists will have the opportunity to get involved in more activities.
