According to Lerner and Dombro, goodness of fit needs to be shaped particularly in the first years of life to allow smooth infant-caregiver interaction. She lifted it toward her face and stared at her face, smiled and wrinkled her nose. Based on her reaction it appears she has a sense of self and has developed self awareness. According to R. A. According to table 7.1 , self-awareness appears at around 18 months. Based on this information, Isabella, at 20 months of age, would be within the age range for development and therefore within the norm for her age (R. A. Thompson 188).
