When people drink heavily, their focus is somewhere else in another planet. Tenagers from age 18 to 2, don’t have the responsibility to handle alcohol. Eighteen year olds heavily influence those younger who look up tp them. So an 18 year old can buy liquor to a 16 year old, giving that younger teen more opportunities to hurt him/her. (Alcantara 468) The opposition wil argue that if 18 year olds can vote, marry,drive, and serve the army, they should be allowed to drink because if they can handle these responsibilities at age 1, they can handle their alcohol at age 18. (Gitz 461) However, 18 year old cannot be responsible to handle alcohol because they misuse it in a bad way, and show bad influence to the youngsters to drink at an early age. Alcohol can lower inhibitions and lead to choices that a sober person might not ordinary do.
If we lowered the drinking age to 1, we would be allowing alcohol problems to increase among youths. Drinking can cause not little, but serve health problems to the organs in your body. These health issues can be from drinking too much alcohol, and then your body can shut down anytime because it just had enough.
