Abstract
Computer programming has been around for a very short time in the overall time span of the world. It began with the ancient cultures and continues with modern man. Man has always tried to create different forms of computers and ways of tracking different things. Over the last few decades have done amazing things.

The History of Computer Programming Computer programming is an interesting process that comes off an original computer problem to a remedy. It involves the analysis and lots of problem solving putting the results in a verification of requirements including its activity and resource consumption. A target program consists of language testing, debugging, and maintaining the source codes. Implementing the build and managing the artifacts such as a machine code for computer programs. Algorithms are often only reasoned about using logic. Source code is written in one or more programming languages. The purpose of programming to find the sequence of instruction that will begin to perform a specific task to solve a problem. The process of programming requires expert knowledge. They need to understand the application domain and what algorithms and formal logic consists of. During ancient times they had no idea about computing process except the Abacus. It was invented in Sumeria in 2500 BC. It was used for computing Algebra, Geometry and Arithmetic computations. Later around 100 BC. The Antikythera mechanism was invented in Greece. It was the first mechanical calculator utilizing configurations capable of performing calculations. That tracked the metonic cycle that is used today for lunar calendars. It was also used for the Olympiads. In the 1880’s the recording of data was invented. It could be read by a machine and was used to read musical instruments. After the trials of paper tape they settled with punch cards. The punched cards also known as Hollerith cards. The keypunch and the tabulator unit machines were invented. These inventions were the start of the data processing industry. In 1990 Microsoft shipped Windows 3.0 on May 22. It was compatible with DOS program. Windows finally offered great performance to satisfy the PC users. For the new version that Microsoft upgraded the interface and created a program that let computers to process large graphical applications for the first time. It let multiple programs to run at the same time. Microsoft released Windows with a $10 million publicity blitz. Making sure that everyone would know of their product. Microsoft lined up a number of applications ahead of time that would run under Windows 3.0, including Microsoft Word. This made the user friendly concepts of Macintosh computers and IBM compatible computers more popular. In 1991 Linux was released. It was designed by Linus Torvalds a student at Finnish University. Almost instantly enthusiasts began looking into improving Linux, by adding support and improving the stability of it. In February 1992, Linux became free software or an open source. Linux incorporated elements of the GNU operating system and became widely used by PC users. Along came PGP, Pretty Good Privacy. Phil Zimmermann created the email encryption program. He created the program to protect people from the governments around the world. He released it on the internet in 1991. It was a free download for all internet users. The United States was very skeptical about the strength of the PGP. It competed against most of the best secret codes at that time. PGP is now the most used encryption for email in the world. A large increase of the internet occurred during the mid-1990s. This was the next historical event for the history of computer programming. It opened up a brand new platform for computers. The internet opened up room for new languages to be learned. JavaScript programming language became popular because of
