RECEIVING THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY

“And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:3-4) Divided tongues appeared unto each of them as that of fire and it sat upon each one of them. It did not burn them as this was the fire of the Holy Spirit that has sat on each one of them. They each began to speak with other tongues, as seen further in the scripture the tongues that were heard were languages of others that were there but it was not a language that was known to them. The signs that were seen on the day of Pentecost were not just merely symbolic as even if the signs were not present the effectiveness of this day and the same power would have existed, “However, the absence of the sign of other tongues would have completely modified the character of the history completely.”
As still seen in the Pentecostal movement in today’s society people do still speak in tongues as a sign of the Holy Spirit. This is a Heavenly language between them and God. This is something that has raised controversy over the years as to whether this is truly the Holy Spirit or if those signs of the Holy Spirit ceased to exist. Also there have been questions raised as to when a person receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit in their life.
THE INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT The Holy Spirit is real and a very vital part of each and every believer’s
