Many accidents are blamed on distracted driving and most of the distractions are caused by cell phone usage. Some people feel that creating a law against cell phone use on the road interferes with their personal rights. Others think that banning someone from using their cell phones is the same as telling someone that they can't tune in from one channel to another on their radio or even conversate with someone else in their car. However, using a cell phone, whether talking or texting, while driving can be extremely dangerous; it should be made illegal because it is very hazardous to yourself and the people surrounding you can get hurt or it could lead to the death of loved ones. Occasionally it can even be compared to the danger level of drunk driving. No matter what age the driver is or how much experienced time they have had with it, under no circumstance should they be texting while driving. Texting or using a cell phone while driving is very hazardous to yourself and the people surrounding you. One reason the majority of people are against this action is because it causes a great amount of car accidents every year. While driving, adults and teenagers cannot resist the urge to pick up their cell phone and send a text or respond to one, and as soon as the driver’s eyes meet their cellular device, their focus on the road is drawn away.
