Age discrimination involves treating someone (an applicant or employee) less favorably because of his or her age. Both the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK) have legislations enacted regarding anti-age discrimination, and they both have differences and similarities when it comes to the definition of age discrimination. The US and the UK have differences in their legislation related to age discrimination. The US’s legislation, which is called, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act 1967 (ADEA) protects individuals who are 40 years old or older from discrimination based solely on their age. UK’r s legislation called The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 (“UK Age Regulations”) makes it unlawful in the workplace to discriminate against someone directly or indirectly of individuals between the ages
