1. Summarise the main development of a child from the age range 0-2 years, 3-5 years and 5-8 years

The main development of a child varies in many ways. Every child is an individual and because of different culture their development can be very different. There are five stages of development in a child, but each child will develop differently at each stage. These stages are: Physical development, Social development, Emotional development, Intellectual development and Language development

Physical development is all about movements of limbs e.g. hands, feet or finger or arms, which arouse children interest to discover the environment.

Social development entail learning the principles, understanding and ability that allows children to communicate to others successfully and to play a part in encouraging ways to family, school and the neighbourhood. It's all about taking children feeling into consideration, eager to listen and treat them with respect.

Emotional development can be supported by learning what feelings and emotions are, recognising one's own feeling and those of others and feeling secure.

Intellectual development is all about memory concentration, learning new skills and understanding.

Physical development at the age 0-2 years a baby can look at his hands, watch movement of things, cries when he/she is hungry, upset, wet, hungry and tired. Lies on his back with head to one side, moves eyes and control head, can lift his head says goo-goo, dada/mama, sit with support, rollover and crawl, sit without support, throw books/toys, feed himself, walk, walk up and down stairs, use potty, watch TV, sing along, count up to 20 and take shoes off. At the age between 3-5 years a child can draw, kick ball, ride tricycle, draw circle, face, throw ball, brush teeth, can build blocks/jigsaw, walk fast, run faster and quickly, can dress/undress, tie, untie shoe laces, listen and dance to music. Age 5-8 a child can ride a bicycle without help, good at drawing, writing and can dress and undress him/herself.

Intellectual development a child at the age 0-2 years a child cries when hungry, need changing/attention, stare at things, put things in mouth, throw things, familiar with family or friends, looking at things, can build blocks, point to parts of body, draw objects and play games e.g. peek a boo or hide and seek. At the age 3-5 years a child can recognise name/colours, draw and colour pictures, match letters, count, like and dance to music, spell simple words, read books, paint and play games. Between the age 5-8 years a child is able to read and write, play games, ask questions

Social and emotional development between the age 0-2 years a child can smile, respond to parents voice, relate with strangers, play with friends, being inquisitive, sociable, looking around, listen to music, sing a long with nursery rhymes, play with toys, feed himself, potty training, remember parents/families names, shy and play with other children. A child at the age of 3-5 years goes to nursery, enjoyed playgroup, friendly, understanding of self, build friendship, engaged with others, sometimes like being alone, can play alone, kick football and understand things. At the age 5-8 a child is positive of him/herself, build friendship with others and very challenging and obstinate.

Language development at the age between 0-2 years a child cries when hungry, cries for attention, can say mama, dada, babbles, giggles, can clap hands, dance to music, understand some words. Between the age 3-5 years a child can make small
