What is reflective practice?

Reflective practice is how you can evaluate yourself and how you can improve on what you can do. This can involve your attitudes and beliefs that influence you. Sometimes this can mean accepting criticism and changing the way you act to make a better service.
It is important to understand the positive and negative feed feedbacks to understand where you go wrong in some areas and work better in others, this is because sometimes we don’t know where we are going wrong till it’s pointed out, then we can put our reflective practice into making a better service working to standardise the service making it work in a better way.
Many people find it hard to accept negative criticism, people generally don’t like to be told they are doing something wrong better to make a better service and for you to be able to do this in your role it needs to be pointed out. By reflecting on the feedback it can help you move forwards making you better at your work. This can give you a better raport with both colleagues and service users.
Why is reflective practice Important?
Reflective practice is important to make sure you are up to date with work practices and current thinking. It can also show that you have taken on board the areas that you need to change adjusting your views to help work and socialise with others and they’re beliefs, It can also show that you are willing to improve yourself.
