Snake Evolution
By Wayan M Widyartha
The evolution of snakes went from being a four-legged animal to a zero legged animal that we see today. The oldest ancestor of a snake that has been found is a Mosasaur witch lived in the ocean and grew up to 50 feet and was thought to weigh up to 13 to 15 tons, it went extinct between 65 to 110 million years ago. Today snakes can be found all over the world because different snakes have evolved to survive in different climates around the world.
Lamarckism is a theory created by Jean-Baptiste Lamarck between 1809 - 1815 it is the theory of inheritance. Inheritance is the theory that if you where to do something over and over again it will become a trait that can be pasted on to your children. For example a giraffe stretches its neck so it is able to reach food higher up, the giraffe's neck becomes longer as a result of it's use, this allows the giraffe's offspring inherit its long neck.

Darwinism is the theory created by Charles Robert Darwin in 1858 it is the theory of natural selection. Natural selection is the theory that a single animal in a species of animal has a trait or mutation that allows it to dominate over the others, witch allows it to survive and reproduce and pass on it’s traits to its children to survive and repeat the cycle over again. For example a giraffe with a longer neck reach’s food higher up, this giraffe has a higher chance of getting enough food, inturn means survival and reproduction allowing it’s children to inherit its traits to survive.

The difference between Darwin and Lamarck’s theories are that Darwin’s theory is all about dominance (The strong live and the weak die never to be seen again). While Lamarck’s theory is all about the over use of something (over using something over and over again can make it permanent and become come a
