Chapter 5&6 Short Answer 1.The French and Indian war was between England and France for the colonization of the
Ohio Valley. There were countless tribes involved in this war. Many of which were Indian tribes because their land was being taken over, so they were going to fight for it. Two tribes involved were the Shawnee and Sandusky and both were on the French side. This war ended in 1763 and it led to signing the Treaty of Paris. However, this war led to the Revolutionary
War.

2.The Stamp Act was an act in 1765 of Great Britain's parliament. It demanded that the printed objects in the colonies have to be on stamped paper that had earlier been made in
France. The Stamp Acts resistance was demonstrated through arguments in the colonial legislatures. Britain’s reason for the Stamp Act was to force taxes on the colonies and also to require the stamped paper for all usage. This meant on licenses, town newspapers, and even decks of cards were taxed. 3.John Dickinson was the farmer from Pennsylvania that had written several letters pertaining the Townshend Acts. The Townshend Acts were acts by the parliament about British colonies in North America. He did so because of British Parliament were subjected to change the colonies customs. Dickinson supported such taxes like trade and how it’s regulated. He refuted the taxes that were towards the Parliament consisting of money and freedom. 4.The Tea Act was yet another act performed by Great Britain’s government. It would mark the final rebellious movement in Boston. The colonists that were in or near Philadelphia turned the ships filled with tea away and back towards Britain. Great Britain’s justification toward the Tea Act was mainly to have a disadvantage of tea exportations to anywhere in
North America. 5. The Sons of Liberty were made up of people from North America British colonies. They started to form to help control violence. One of their ways of colonial resistance was they dressed up and acted like they were Indians and helped dump the tea. Women were still at a disadvantage, but their way of colonial resistance was to just quit working. A British reaction to colonial resistance is they fought massive debt with the government. 6. The next set of acts is the Intolerable Acts. Also known as the Coercive Acts. The
Intolerable Acts was a bunch of laws passed by British Parliament soon after the Tea Act. The
Boston Tea Party proceeded the British to pass the Intolerable Acts. These Acts caused the
American Revolution because they eliminated some rights and some part of government.
They also extended Quebec into a French Catholic region.

7. One Native American Society that fought for the Americans were the Tuscarora people.
They were part of the Americas in California, New York, North and South Carolina, and
Pennsylvania. Since they shared land, they sided with the Americans. They had a deep involvement in the Tuscarora War. They, however, did not benefit from this war. They lost power, and had to move their colonization to another location. The Native Americans did not
