Inspiration and Inerrancy of the Bible "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." (KJV) 2 Timothy 3:16. Every single word of the Scripture is God breathed and is inspired by God. The Bible is the Word of God and God cannot be mistaken or incorrect. To deny the inerrancy of the Bible one must either state a fact that God cannot be mistaken or else the Bible is not the Word of God.
The Bible is wholly reliable, a light unto our path, and a trustworthy guide to reality. John 1:1 clearly states that in the beginning of the earth was the Word of God. " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." We as Christians believe that God who is perfect is also capable of writing a perfect book. According to Psalm 19:7, " The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple." This verse claims that the Bible is absolute perfection. It does not say that God's Word is almost pure or nearly perfect. As Christians we can argue that the Bible is pure and complete perfection, which doesn't leave any room for partial perfection. " Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him." proverbs 30:5.
The Bible is our guidebook on how Christians Should live their everyday lives and the only rule for faith and practice. If the Bible is not reliable, then how do we base our Christian beliefs? Jesus wants us to trust him with everything that we do because the Bible provides us with that confidence. John 6:67-69 states, " So Jesus said to the Twelve, " Do you want to go away as well?" Simon Peter answered him, " Lord, to whom shall we go?" You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God." Jesus tells us that we have the words for eternal life and we should trust Him and His Word.
We as humans have grown accustomed to being lied to, and many people have gotten comfortable with the false accusation that the Bible contains numerous errors. Biblical inerrancy is important to understand because the truth of the Bible does matter. The Bible reflects the character of God and the foundation to Christians understanding what the Bible really means and what the Bible teaches us in our everyday lives. Psalm 12:6 states that, " The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times." We cannot pick or choose what we consider truth or error. For example, if the Bible isn't correct about the creation then maybe the information about salvation cannot be trusted as well. As a Christian I have to believe that the Bible gives me a perfect picture of who God is. Psalm 119:89 says, "Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens."
According to Hebrews 4:12," For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword,
Literary Elements In Short Stories In literature authors will often use literary elements in their writing. They also often improve the quality of the writing, and make it more interesting for the reader. In “The Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin and “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the authors use symbolism to describe how the main characters cannot live with a lack…
