In the world there are many bad things that happen to good people. Villages get swept away by hurricanes, cops shot by criminals, drunk drivers wreck into oncoming traffic, a young child loses his constant battle with cancer. The fact is, bad things do happen to good, innocent people. However, we can use these bad things to glorify God. It is how we respond to bad events in our lives or in the world that can be used to glorify God. In John 11:4 it is said
“This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s son may be glorified.” I interpret this to mean that no matter what bad things happen, God can still be glorified in any situation. We must make the best of all situations and use it for the glory of
God.
A few years ago, I went with on mission trip to Georgetown, South Carolina, with my aunt and her church. There were various other churches there, and I knew nobody. It was very intimidating at first, being one of the youngest there. The first day we went on a tour of the houses where we might work, so that we would know what we would face and have no surprises. I got assigned to the best house there was. I had a nice older lady who had fallen behind on her bills and her medical conditions weren’t allowing her to catch up easily. The condition of her house became a low priority when compared to the bills that were piling up.
Through all of the work on her house we did and the bonding we did with her, we were able to glorify God to her; to show her how He pushes us to help others and how He has impacted our own lives. She became eager everyday to hear about the church services we had every night, and I believe that we helped to revive her faith. She still emails the pastor today to learn about his lessons and how his church is. Through mission work and just talking with this woman we were able to glorify God.
Another example that I am going through right now is the amount schoolwork I have taken on. While taking 7 IB courses and 1 elective course, it can be hard to keep what is
really important in perspective. I find myself skipping church some Sundays to catch up on sleep I missed over the school week, or being tempted to use others’ work rather than do my own. Grades have become too important to me, and I often forget I need to take care of myself. If I’m not careful, I can find my morals changing, and I try to justify my actions falsely.
It’s not always easy to resist these temptations; however, it is how we do react to these temptations that can be used to glorify God.
Another, perhaps the most important of these examples, is how we treat our family.
The 5th commandment of the 10 commandments is to “Honor your father and your mother.”
How we treat
Gordon Johnny preaches bad sermons because he can neither think nor read; he can’t communicate. The main premise of this book is that an average person sitting in a church will generally hear a bad sermon. In order to present a good sermon, it is necessary for it to have a point which should be based on the text. People read the bible quickly and without any thought stimulation. However, the Bible must be read much more carefully. “How” the Bible says certain things is as important as to “what”…
Pardoner tells and shows how he himself does not believe in his own preachings. In Canterbury Tales, the Pardoner talks about how greed, drinking, and swearing is a sin and against God's will. In the the prologue, the Pardoner begins all his sermons the same: “greed is the root of all evil.” The Pardoner tells a tale about three young men who become angry when their friend is taken by death. The three friends set out to find death when they meet an old man who talks about how death wont take…

regrets having driven him to this area where he requested to be driven. This is a key part of the book because it shows us how bad things were during this time period. This drive re-triggers Mr. Norton's memories of the past. He re-lives the terrible incidents from his past and sees it re-occurring right there and then on the scene. He saw flash backs of the bad things that black people did to his family and his privately owned car. The invisible man, fearing that Norton might die from shock, drives…
and he won’t always be able to do the best he can. The central theme of this song is directed at Kendrick’s fans — will you be there through thick and thin, trials and tribulations, achievements and mistakes? “Sermons” are part of a typical church service, and talk on a religious or moral subject. While Kendrick delivers his sermon in the present, can he trust his fans to spread his legacy into the future, once he’s no longer here? Since Lamar’s image is relatively clean: he doesn’t smoke or drink and is engaged to …

Even in the Koran they cannot find any true evidence to show men were superior at all over women.8 Later on in the Koran it also says to honor your mother which also shows the respect women were given.9 Muhammad the founder of Islam said in his final Sermon, “O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have right over you. Catholic allies by explaining how he arrived at Christian faith. Augustine speaks of his adolescence years in Confessions as a time of sinful indulges. Although he came from a family that was never without food, he still stole things with his influent friends. Augustine hung around bad company that consisted of stealing and engaging in lustful activities. Around the ages of 16-19, Augustine studied at Carthage and converted to Manichaeism. Augustine entered a state of depression with the loss of close…
none other than the town’s Puritan minister. With this minister, she has an illegitimate child named Pearl. This whole thing is considered of one of the worst crimes in a Puritan society as one does not simply leave the person they vowed to stay with. The town believes that Hester must be against God to want to do such a thing and should be kept away from their children as a bad example so she lives on the outskirts of town with her daughter. Her daughter, Pearl, is also shunned as she is a mischievous…
