Oil Production

The article is about emerging technologies and new methods of producing oil. This article is mainly a national and international issue because not all nations will choose to adapt to the new method of producing oil. However, since oil is a product that is traded internationally, there can be a possibility that foreign countries will also have some of the newly produced oil. In the article, the author explains how any carbon based waste product can be turned into oil. The process is called Thermodepolymerization and with enough heat and pressure any carbon based product from turkey guts to old tires can be created into oil. In my opinion, I would like this to happen because it would be the best situation for to secure a stable future. I chose this article because oil is crucial in our modern years. I absolutely believe this article is important for kids my age because this solution for the lack of oil will ultimately benefit my generation.

In Vitro Meat In this article, the emerging technology of a completely new method of producing “meat”. The scientists behind this revolutionary creation are hoping that this product becomes internationally known. The article discusses how scientists have begun to engineer new methods of producing meat without using living organisms. Meat is explained in the article as simply the arrangements of atoms which scientists have been able to duplicate in laboratories. It may seem disgusting but, people who have actually tried it and could afford the $30,000 that it cost to make a burger said it was the best meat they had ever tasted. I decided to choose this article because I enjoy learning about new methods of crops and livestock production. This will most likely not affect me because the production is far too expensive to be mass produced. In this situation, I would probably be grossed out by the lab. created product. Exoskeletons Exoskeletons are a new technological advancement that can be obtained for the right price. Although not many are currently being produced, the regular exoskeleton would most likely be an international product. The U.S army is looking into exoskeletons to maximize the capabilities of soldiers as well. With the exoskeleton, soldiers would be able to walk farther and carry more equipment with them. The revolutionary technology would completely replace wheelchairs because of the much more capabilities exoskeletons have.
For the first time, paraplegics could be able to walk and do most of the functions that their peers do. This great technology would be extremely beneficial for all of the people who are forced to sit in a wheelchair their entire lives. Companies like ReWalk and Tek RMD have already began production in the first models to be sold to the public. This product would probably not affect me unless I become injured and require a wheelchair then I would definitely be interested in acquiring this technology. I think kids should definitely read this article in case they have a family member that would like to look into this product. I liked this article because it is great technology that can and will help millions of people.
