Queen Victoria (Alexandria Victoria; May 24,1819 – January 22,1901)

On, May 24, 1819 Alexandria Victoria was born to Prince Edward,Duke of Kent and Strathearn (both died in 1820) and Princess Victoria. Her father was the fourth son of King George III. Their daughter inherited the thrown at the age of 18, after her father's elder brothers had all died. Which left no legitimate surviving children. This incident also effected Queen Victoria, by her becoming under supervision by her German-born mother (Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg_Saalfeld). She was the monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from June 20, 1837 until her death. On May 1, 1876 she also gained the title of Empress of India.

Although the United Kingdom was already an constitutional monarchy,in which the sovereign held relatively little direct political power. Privately, Queen Victoria attempted and attempted time after time to influence the government policy and ministerial appointments. While in public,she became a national icon and was identified with strict standards of personal morality. Queen Victoria did a lot things in the dark that most people does not know about at all.
