What are the characteristics of a tragic hero?

A tragic hero is a character of noble stature and has greatness. She/he must have a "high" status position as well as exemplify nobility and virtue as part of his/her innate character.

What is a tragic flaw?
A tragic flaw is a trait in the character leading to his downfall and most of the time the character is usually the hero of the story.

Allegory - a picture that can be interpreted as something

Irony- an expression of ones meaning that signifies the opposite
Hyperbole-extreme exagerated statement
Personification-giving nonhumans human like charecteristics

Foreshadowing
Foreshadowing is a warning or indication of the future either its bad or good.
We used foreshadowing when Henry hands Victoria the letter, telling her about her brother Williams unfortunate death. Symbolism
Symbolism is the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities somthing.
We used symbolism when Victoria goes to
Justines funeral. The flowers seen in the scene are representing the love they had for Justine.

Romantic vs. Modern
It was embodied mostly in the visual arts, music, and literature, but had a major impact on historiography education and the natural sciences.
The movement validated intense emotion as an authentic source of aesthetic experience, placing new emphasis on emotions like apprehension, horror and terror.
“Romantics” were distrustful of the human world, and tended to believe that a close connection with nature was mentally and morally healthy.

In modern literature the individual is more interesting than society. Specifically writers are fascinated with how the individual adapts to the changing world.
Technology serves a great purpose in day daily modern life. Most of the population owns technology devices. Education is used to pass down the values and morals and beliefs of the modern era as well as provide access to reading writing mathematics and art to enhance the enjoyment of modern education.
