There are hundreds of children living in foster homes, wishing for a family and a place to call home. There are couples of the same sex hoping to become parents. Unfortunately, some states do not approve for Gays and Lesbians to adopt those children who are in need of a family. Before the year 1997 the Adoption Assistance and the Child Welfare Agencies would allow the children of abusive parents to remain in there custody unprotecting the safety of those little ones. On the year 1997 when Clinton was President of the United States, Clinton signed the Adoption and Safe Family Act. It allowed Child Welfare Agencies to protect the children who where being neglected by there own parents, by placing them in a foster home. Thanks to this, Act couples of the same sex have a higher chance of becoming parents. Some States today like California, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Vermont specifically allow same-sex couples to adopt. These states have passed laws that clearly state that same-sex couple are eligible for adoption. Yet, there are other States, which completely ban gay adoption. Many of the heterosexual people are against gays and lesbians and do not agree with them wanting to become parents. Some none-gay people believe that children would also turn out to be homosexual if gays and lesbians raise them. In addition, other people against it believe that a child needs both female and male
issues dealing with homosexuality. As we look in the bible as a guide on homosexuality we find that every time the bibles spoke on homosexuality, it was with condemnation. First, let us look at a few scriptures that substantiate that homosexuality is wrong. Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely…
supportive of gay rights. This means that many of the same people who are even passionately in favor of gay rights oppose gays on this one issue. Why is there all this passion for gay marriage? It's because there is a lot of misunderstanding about what homosexuality really is, as well as the erroneous assumption that gay people enjoy the same civil rights protections as everyone else. There are also a lot of stereotypes about gay relationships, and even a great deal of misunderstanding of what marriage.…

Why is that any different from a man wanting to marry a woman? I can't seem to understand why a decision that should be left up to only two people is being left in the hands of Americans who clearly don't understand love. In my research, I found that there was a Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) that was passed in 1996 that says federal law defines marriage as unity between a man and woman. In addition to that the law allows states to refuse to recognize same-sex marriages entered into other states.…
