GAY MARRIAGE Ask just about anyone. They will all tell you they're in favor of equal rights for homosexuals. Just name the situation, and ask. They will all say, yes, gays should have the same rights in housing, jobs, public accommodations, and should have equal access to government benefits, equal protection of the law, etcetera, and etcetera. Nearly seventy percent of people in the U.S. oppose gay marriage, almost the same proportion as are otherwise supportive of gay rights. This means that many of the same people who are even passionately in favor of gay rights oppose gays on this one issue. Why is there all this passion for gay marriage? It's because there is a lot of misunderstanding about what homosexuality really is, as well as the erroneous assumption that gay people enjoy the same civil rights protections as everyone else. There are also a lot of stereotypes about gay relationships, and even a great deal of misunderstanding of what marriage. Being gay is not accepted in so many countries, some people are gay but not in the open. Nowadays there are a lot of reasons against the opposition of gay marriage. Firstly for the fact that marriage is the union or an institution of a man and a woman, although On the other hand, there are arguments against these marriages that I am opposed to. One being the position that it would it would encourage strong family values and give up high-risk sexual lifestyles. When it comes to family I believe that it would be very hard for a child to grow up with homosexual parents in this society. A society is fair and just when decisions are made so that the weaker or the poorer is defended. In marriage you have an opportunity to have family with children but how can two gay people have and raise children in a normal way? A normal way means that a child has a right to have a father and a mother and it means that a child has an opportunity to experience love from both sides. Two same sex parents cannot replace either mother or father no matter how much they try. Another reason why gay marriage is being opposed is this, marriage is also meant for procreation, but how can two people of the same sex have children? Marriage actually occurs mainly because of love and to procreate by bringing new and unborn children to the world, but in this case two people of the same sex who get married and cannot their own children of their own, adopt and there is really no joy in that. So why get married when they cannot have children? I come from a country that has a totally different way of life and culture. Nigeria is a country whereby discipline is observed in a strict and authoritative manner. Some parents discipline their children with care while some parents are really strict with their children. I am not trying to protect nor side my country but nobody is perfect and I am very positive that this whole thing about people being gay also goes on in Nigeria or Africa to be precise. Even though people are gay in Africa they do not do it in the open it’s always hidden, it’s not that it’s not allowed but it’s not just accepted because of our culture. Two gay couples cannot just walk out on the street and start acting gay, anything could happen to them, they could get beat up or any other negative things could happen to them. Most people who turn out to be gay are actually gay due to one reason or the other, like probably they broke up with their boyfriends or girlfriends and it wasn’t working out, or they had abusive boyfriends or girlfriends, or even problems committing to one another or maybe according to some which I have actually asked why they are gay say they just like to try new things which sounds totally bizarre. Definitely it is good to try out new things in one way or the other but not things that won’t profit you or won’t be of any benefit to one. Trying
