The UK teenage fashion wear is the clothing that the girls and boys between the age of 13 to 24 wear. This research includes the sales of clothing, footwear and accessories, also the sales from teenage-specific retailers and clothes collection which are aimed at adults but purchased by the young generation. In 2010 keynote estimated that the total teenage fashion market reached £10.2bn. The years before this the sales have been growing on year to year basis but in 2009, 0.7% decline was observed due to the downturn in the economy.

Interest in fashion starts from young age, mostly girls and children follow similar trends to adult’s fashion. Children are more independent from a younger in regards to their choices of clothing. Girls are more fashion conscious than boys from a younger age but the trends are similar in both genders male and female. This emphases on casual trends, where staple item e.g. jeans, basic t-shirts, hoodies and casual footwear, are popular among younger generation. Branding also plays a big role in teenage fashion.
