The primary function of the female reproductive system is to reproduce. Organs such as ovaries, fallopian tubes, the uterus and the vagina are what make up the internal female system. The labia majora, labia minora, Bartholin’s glands and clitoris serves as a protection to the internal organs. These organs assist in keeping unwanted, infectious organisms away. Infectious organisms such as STDs may cause harm to a woman whom is in her childbearing years. As an absence of the female reproductive systems, male reproductive system is needed for conception. The male reproductive organs consist of the penis, scrotum, testicles, epididymis, ejaculatory ducts and vas deferens. In a systematic process all organs, in females and males are used for conception. In the process of conception, the females’ egg cell is fertilized by the males’ sperm cell. In order for a woman to be proclaimed as in the first stage of pregnancy, the fertilized egg must be attached to the walls of the uterus. The fertilization process usually does not take place directly in the uterus but in the fallopian tubes. In the male and female reproduction systems there are several similarities, one being the fallopian tubes and vas deferens.
