By: Courtney Martin I desire to be an register nurse when i get out of high school, because I love helping people. i know how to be responsible and i am responsible for my actions that I do wrong. i'm positive I can be a RN because I grew up taking care of people. It is my favorite thing to do and i'm sure I can make it if I really tried to, which i will. Register nurses, regardless or work settings or speciality, treat patient, educate patients, and the public about various medical condition, and provide advice amd emotional support to patient's family members. They must record patients' medical histories and symptoms, help perform diagnostic tests and analyze reports, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and help with patient follow up and rehabilitation. Some RNs may promote general health by educating the public on warning signs and symtoms of disease. The job outlook is to be expected to be excellent, but may vary by employment and geographic settings. The average salary of an RN in the United States is $67,720. The average hourly wage of an Rn is $32.56. A RN in Georgia hourly wage is $29.65, and the salary is $61,220. Personal characteristics of register nursing should be caring, sympathic, responsible, and detail oriented. They also must be able to direct or supervise others, correctly assess patients conditions, and determine when consultian, if required and emotional stability. There is a lot of things that is involve in being an RN. Register nurses has many responsibilities. Specific responsibilities will vary from one RN to the next. A reigister nurse duties and titles are often determined by thier work setting or patient population served. Responsibilities can be specialized in one or more areas of patient care. Four general ways to specialize are: health conditions, in working with one or more organs or body system types, a well-defined population, and some may combine specials. Some responsibilies of an RN is to teach patients and thier families how to manage the illness or injuries, explaining post-treatment home care needs; diet, nutrition, and exercise programs, and physical therapy.
