Reflection
The academic tutor on the Health and social Care course assigned the class with their second presentation which was to sell a country, this would have peer and tutor feedback.
The class was divided into groups; each group having 20 minutes, with each member of the group having 3-5 minutes to deliver their individual speech. Each member would be marked on how they presented themselves with:
Facial expression, eye contact
Gestures
Body contact posture
Warmth
Tone and pitch of voice
Speed and delivery
Choice of words
Working as a team
Each member was going to be marked on each ranging from E being low, A being outstanding.
We chose to sell Great Britain; in a group we decided how to promote the country. The headlines relating to the country where:
Introduce GB at as country
Royal Family
London
Food/culture
Sights
We had two planned meeting within college to talk about what each member was going to be talking about, what props we could gather.

On the day of the presentation we were given 30 minutes to get ourselves together and all the props ready, I was feeling even more nervous than the Dragons Den presentation, I have never had to speak in front of group before this course and I really didn’t feel easy doing it again. The group supported each other, I was good at reassuring the other members and pretending I was going to deliver my part with ease but this was defiantly not the case. I was not going to tell any of my group how I was really feel as when I was growing up my father would tell me never let anyone see your vulnerabilities; this is from his military background.
Standing in front of the class I felt sick and hot, I was second to deliver and stepped forward to make my pitch, I started to talk, my mouth starts to dry, I moved on to my second postcard and lost my way, all the words on the card swam around the page and I clamed up, I say “I can’t do this”, the class offered encouragement but I felt I had already failed,
