Reflection Paper Integrity is honesty and truthfulness. "Research has identified five dimensions that make up the concept of trust...Of these five dimensions, integrity seems to be the most critical when someone assesses another's trustworthiness" (Robbins, DeCenzo, and Coulter, 2014, Page 353). In any type of managerial role, the ability to gain the trust of the team is important to the success of the organization. Therefore, integrity, being characterized by trustworthiness, is a vital trait needed in those who lead. The leader of any team is responsible for not only the successful completion of a goal or production of an item, but also team member comfort, confidence, satisfaction, and support. With open communication, resulting from the integrity of the leader, team members feel safe and secure in their working environment. "Leaders build trusting relationships with followers by being truthful, or nondeceitful, and by showing high consistency between word and deed" (Robbins, DeCenzo, and Coulter, 2014, Page 339). A good leader’s word is reliable and an example of such integrity is a promised pay raise and the honoring of that promise. The manager has shown honesty and trustworthiness, or integrity.
