INTRODUCTION The aim of this report is to outline the findings from the counselling session of Eduard Tipaldo, architecture student, who wanted to discuss about communication styles, to improve his way of working in team and to have a deepen view of different working styles that he might come across in his career. Using the MBTI test we discovered that there is no right or wrong way of working, and if someone prefers to do something in his own style is because is more effective this way and the level of consumed energy is lower while the outcome is higher. Being flexible is the key of the counselling session, in this way Eduard will manage to succeed in his career even if he is working with people that might be considered "lazy" or that are "not doing the job properly".

TOOLS Because the main issue discussed was how to relate and tolerate different typology of people the tool used in the counselling session was MBTI test which is based on four bipolar dimensions: Extraversion-Introversion, Thinking-Feeling, Judgment-Perception, Sensing-Intuition. By combining these dimensions a number of 16 typologies are derived from the results. Relevant type concepts are linked to communication issues, teambuilding, team working, and relating with different types of people. Finding out about the typologies is useful when focusing on the desired working environment, on tasks and the individual`s team. Preferences are viewed as inborn, but one’s environment at any point throughout life can change, people may support or negate one’s preference. Jung and Myers believed that type does not change but on the other hand, as individuals focus on developing different mental processes at various stages in life, they might face the need of expanding their choices and develop another style. For example a person who has high aptitudes in a field which can work excellent alone but has difficulties while working in team because of the tendency of seizing the workload thinking that someone else is not capable of producing a better outcome than his. Learning how to distribute the roles in a team might be a good start but also learning more about different working styles so as to understand that people who do things different are also capable. The intent of MBTI is to sort individuals into types, in this way the job satisfaction and the sense of worth will increase and the frustration might decrease. A framework for understanding one`s personality adds greatly to the counselling process and the MBTI test is concentrating on who is someone not on what is someone doing- that is when people work with their natural preferences and the test captures well this situation.

FINDINGS After applying the MBTI test a wide view of yours preferences was outlined. The result of the test indicated that you are a person who has introverted sensing with extraverted thinking. This means that you have a strong sense of responsibility, work with high levels of energy for completing the given task as you stated during the counselling session. Also means that you might work faster than your peers, doing systematic work and knowing what the next step is in achieving a certain goal. Architecture, the chosen career is the one that reflects best your working style, you tend to focus on the task and the system as a whole with logical and analytical thinking, being detached and reasonable at the same time. The choices made rely on your experience and knowledge, the options are logically analysed before the choice being made and start working towards the chosen direction. Other people might see you sociable but at the same time distant, your standards might be interpreted as judgments by others because of the desire for respecting the schedule and well structured work.
