Presidential Election
On the first Tuesday of November, polls all around the United States will be placed for the new election of our President. Barack Obama’s political views, towards the issues we are facing, have not been the best for this country, but it’s far more relevant than allowing a Republican to make judgments. From economy beliefs, to budget deficits, and to healthcare implementations, Mitt Romney’s statements towards these issues do not present a positive point for my vote.
With the election campaign kicking into gear, many are starting to wonder about where Mitt Romney positions politically stand, considering the tremendous amount of criticism he was given from the way his political views have formed over his ten year political career. Romney on health care has made strong statements towards the Health Care Reform bill passed by the Congress and signed by the President in 2009. He stated that, “America has witnessed an unconscionable abuse of power.” Romney was supporting to repeal this bill, stating in December 2011, “If I’m President, we’re going to get rid of Obama Care and return, under Constitution—the 10th Amendment—the responsibility of health care to the people in the states.” (Ajherrha-mittromney) What Romney sounds like he is stating here is that people in the states are responsible for paying full medical care bills, instead of getting help from the government. Without the help, many people won’t have the money to support their health. In this situation, more elderly are going to stay sick longer and, possibly, die with no care. Romney is also supporting the position to eliminate the estate tax, which is only applied to those who inherit more than $3.5 million a year. He also supports getting rid of all capital gain taxes for those who inherit less than $200,000 a year. In the month of September of this year, a video of Mitt Romney telling a crowd at a political fundraiser: “There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing, to you-name-it—that that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what… These are people who pay no income… [M]y job is to not worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.” (Ajherrha-mittromney) This is the reason why Romney doesn’t deserve to take on a country that’s filled with people that need the help. He doesn’t deserve to take on something that in the end the people of this world, that are not capable to handle these things, are going to suffer. He should just punish the people that abuse it. Who would want this? What good deeds would come out of this? Obviously no human being in this country would want to live in the conditions he will be setting, especially me!
President Barak Obama was a breath of fresh air after the 8 years of President Bush. Some say he was the smartest man to ever inhabit the White House. President Obama was an inexperienced politician who fell into the right place at the right time. Obama is the biggest supporter of federal government spending since President Roosevelt. Obama’s issues on economy most recently signed a tax relief program on December of 2010, which made created unemployment benefits, continued the tax cuts which were implemented by President Bush, and he also removed the estate tax on amounts under 10 million. Some economists disagreed with the amount of help that Obama created from the bills provided, though most believed it helped create jobs for people and limited the effects of the recession.
