Poverty means a situation in which man cannot enjoy the basic needs of life. Almost, people are supremely poor in a specific province. They live below the poverty line. They lead to very miserable lives due to poverty. Poverty is the lack of basic human needs, such as food, nutrition, education, health care, and shelter. It is mainly caused because of fewer available incomes compared with others in the society. Poverty is not faced by a single person, it runs in a society. The public do lack of basic needed materials. Poor people have to live in bad houses, wear ugly clothes, they can't go out for an expensive meal, eat delicious food and have the worst healthcare. Some people even become thieves when they run out of money. They steal money or expensive things that appear in front of their eyes. Poverty is a common social issue that has troubled nations for thousands of years. The well-known Native American Reservations face this problem too. In addition to poverty, reservations are followed by low education levels, poor health care services, low employment, poor housing, and incomplete economic infrastructures where they live in. Poverty also causes malnutrition. Destitute determines a person’s character that whether one is eligible to do something or not. Poverty is faced with one because it is running from the beginning in their society that means it is generational. People who are living in this society face the worst conditions. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is the story of a boy who is torn between the Indian world and the white world. Poverty determines a person's character, their personality and image, their way of living, and even about how to rule their dreams. Their way of living mainly tells us about the problems that they face in their life. The book gives us an idea about poverty in the Spokane reservation, where how people lack things, food, education and jobs. People living on this reservation lack of food due their low incomes. Thus, nutrition is the main aspect of life, but because of poverty people cannot afford food and they do lack of malnutrition. As said in Alexie’s book by Junior “Okay, so now you know that I'm a cartoonist. And I think I'm pretty good at it, too. But no matter how good I am, my cartoons will never take the place of food or money. I wish I could draw a peanut butter jelly sandwich, or a fist full of twenty dollar bills, and perform some magic trick and make it real. But I can't do that. Nobody can do that, not even the hungriest magician in the world” (7).
When people are bounded along with a society, they need to think a lot before they take any action. Therefore, some conditions prevent them to take an opinion, which will just reward them. Same as here in this book the boy wants to see himself out of the reservation, but then he comes to a conclusion that he is determined as a reservation kid who is not only he himself, but the whole environment is where he lives As said by Junior in Alexie’s book “I wish I were magical, but I am really just a poor-ass reservation kid living with his poor-ass Spokane Indian Reservation” (8). Poverty doesn’t make anyone stronger or better person, it usually depletes one’s way of thinking. Poverty is something incredibly difficult to overcome. Junior said something like that about poverty “Poverty doesn’t give you strength or teach you lessons about perseverance. No, poverty only teaches you how to be poor” (13). Typically it is conferred now that being poor is all related with money, because if one does not have income he cannot do anything. In simple words he cannot buy anything, and for this reason he becomes completely impoverished. In today’s world we are nothing without money. Our life and future depends on how much money we have. Junior said in the book “But
