Grading
Grades will be based on points earned from homework and projects, tests and quizzes, class and group participation. Please keep in mind that poor spelling and grammar on written work will lower your grade. Grades are not rounded.
Grade Scale: A 90-100% B 80-89% C 70-79% D 60-69% F 59% and below
1. Students should be in their assigned seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
2. It is recommended that students come to class with the following materials: pens (blue or black) or pencils, a red pen, your class notebook with paper to record notes, and any assignments or projects that are due.
3. All assignments and projects are due at the beginning of class on the due date.
Late Work Policy-
Each student will receive one “late pass” per quarter. A “late pass” allows a student to turn in a homework assignment one day late for full credit. No credit will be given for any other late assignments.
Major projects will be accepted for half-credit within one day of the due date. After that, no credit will be given on major projects.
Printing is the responsibility of the student. Do not email assignments to your teacher. We will not be able to print them and they will be counted as missing. Alternatives to use if there are printer issues might include using the library or emailing a friend or parent.
4. Students are responsible for getting any missed notes or assignments that were given during an absence. If a test or quiz is missed, it must be made up during lunch on the assigned make-up date. Make-up work will not be given for days of suspension or unexcused absences (cuts). If you suffer an extended illness, contact your teacher to discuss a schedule for you to turn in your work.
5. Each Monday students are expected to record their assignments for the week. Although the homework is posted on the Internet, it is not updated daily and should not be used in place of a planner.
Classroom Rules
1. Students are expected to be courteous and respectful to all classmates, teachers and guests. There will be no swearing, name-calling or interrupting of others.
2. No food or drink in class. (Water is okay)
3. Hats, hoods, beanies, etc. are not to be worn in the classroom.
