a. The settlers on the Wallamette River wanted to be able to purchase and breed their own cattle because Hudsons Bay Company refused to sell cattle and could only leased and received supplies from them.

b. Actors: The actors were settlers of the Wallamette River. Settlers and some of the officers in the Hudsons Bay Company created an organization called the Willamette Cattle Company and they went to California to purchase cattle.

c. They acted upon the persuasion of Lieutenant William Slacum

3. Diversity conflict:
a. I think it’s cultural conflict because Hudsons Bay Company have their own way to manage their programs and it’s not suitable for the settlers of the Wallamette River

a. I think this document is both inclusion and exclusion because having an animal is like a standard for farming and not only growing crops, whereas requiring the animal needs to be a cattle is the exclusion part of the document.

a. It was an agreement for Andrew Hembrie, the lowest bidder at the auction to take care of the mentally ill named Eli Smith for one year along with a $600 to fulfill his duty.
b. Actors: Fred Priggs from the Justice of Peace signed the agreement and Andrew Hembrie is the one who has to take care of Eli Smith
c. This action was acted upon the government’s rule to provide services for the mentally ill

3. Diversity conflict:
a. I think the conflict in the document is towards people with disability. Having services to help the mentally ill are good, but since the lowest bidder needs to take care of the ill means that people are willing to pay a lot of money in order to not be assigned to the ill.

a. I think this is an inclusion document because it is the mentally ill people’s basic right to get assistance from the government at least.

a. The women were trying to get the higher level to banned alcohol or to do something about the bad consequences of consuming alcohol
b. Actors: Ladies of Oregon Territory
c. This petition is acted upon the negative and damaging effects of alcohol consumption

a. I think it this document provide gender inequality. Because from the document it seems that the people who consume alcohol were only the men. Even though the document doesn't literally state that women are not allowed to drink, it seemed that way to me.

4. Inclusion/Exclusion:
a. I think this is an exclusion document because this is one of the many external problems in a society. Like for example, the main problems are rights, food, water, or shelter; the other problems are drugs, alcohol, etc.
