Dreams from My Father
There are many barriers one must overcome, and to accomplish this, one must find their distinctiveness and take a key role in the community. Throughout the novel, Dreams from my Father by our current president Barrack Obama, Barrack demonstrates the true meaning of being an individual. He is highly active in his community, despite the fact that he is part of the black community. The economic, social, and historical developments are links that allow one to form and sustain their identity. Holidays are very important for us in my family, we always show a lot of love and support everyone.
With Barrack’s speaking skills, he is able to interact with people at a different level and really touch their hearts. “I stopped. The crowd was quiet now, watching me. Somebody started to clap. ‘Go with it Barrack,’ somebody else shouted ‘Tell it like it is.’ The others started in, clapping and cheering, and I knew that I had them, that the connection had been made.”(106) Barrack knew what he had to do to be successful and used his strengths and talents to his advantage. By feeling the thrill of getting through to the people in the community, it gave him the motivation to make something out of his life. I am a very outgoing person and I do not have a problem when I speak or perform in front of very large groups of people. Ever since I was young I preformed many dances, songs, monologues, and plays in front of very large audiences. I always tried to make a connection with my audience, which allowed me to show my passion with them. Stepping on stages from such a tender age was life changing because it allowed me to share my talent with others. Everyone in life needs to have a life changing moment, and Barracks came at a young age.
Communities can be sustained and formed in many different ways; through community fundraisers, community activities like concerts or even bonfires. Society consists of many different races, without the variety it would not make up
