Foods that we consume play a major role in our health as well as our lifestyle. Many people do not realize how important it is to eat healthy and exercise. Eating a well-balanced diet will help in the prevention of many diseases and also keep you in shape. The challenge is to find a balance between which foods we like and what foods enrich our health.
Protein will help keep your stomach full while you lose those unwanted pounds. To receive the health benefits of protein you must eat the right kind and the right amount of protein. (WebMD.com) The foods in my recorded daily intake that provide protein are eggs, ham, cheese, steak, chicken, peanut butter and pork loin. The foods that provide carbohydrates are English muffin, bread, crackers, pretzels, rice, cereal, and cookies. The foods that provide lipids are eggs, cookies, and soup. Eggs are c’s considered both a protein and a lipid. The white of the egg is the protein and the yolk is the lipid. My recorded intake of protein and carbohydrate-fat were both well below the recommended daily intake. In order to achieve my goal and keep the other nutrients in balance I would need to add yogurt, more grains, fruits and vegetables to my diet.

Intake – 3 Days In my recorded daily intake the foods that provided protein were beef, turkey, chicken and beans. All of the foods mentioned before provided lipids. The recorded protein, carbohydrates and lipid intakes were above the recommendations of my DRI.
