Necrotizing Fasciitis This paper will show that there are still epidemics of infectious diseases all throughout the United States, as well, as worldwide. There are so many different strains of viruses, which are transmitted to our population in a wide variety of ways. Such diseases and infections are wreaking havoc on our communities, threatening the lives of the people you care about. This is serious, and the people need to know what steps can be taken to prevent developing such infections. If we become knowledgeable on what precautions to take in order to minimize these risks, we can protect ourselves and our loved ones.
Necrotizing Fasciitis
I know you all have heard the term “flesh eating bacteria” before, because it has been in the news. The term sounds awful to imagine, but let’s find out what exactly it is. The medical name referring to this bacteria is Necrotizing fasciitis. Necrotizing fasciitis is a rare thing for people who practice good hygiene, and are otherwise healthy people. Just because it is rare does not mean this should be dismissed as a one in a million shot. Necrotizing fasciitis is the worst of the worst when referring to a bacterial infection. What this bacteria does is spreads throughout the skin at a rapid pace, and slowly kills the body’s soft tissue. The scariest part is trying to get a definitive diagnosis.
The strange thing about necrotizing fasciitis is it chooses its hosts at random and cannot be similarly be linked to other types of infections in other people. Here is the scary part, the easiest way for this infection to enter your body is by something as simple as a scrape, and any type of breakage in the skin makes it susceptible. As stated before, if you are healthy for the most part your chances are low. The same cannot be said for those people with other types of health issues, things such as cancer, diabetes or another type of chronic health problems that impact the body’s immune system make them more susceptible.
Symptoms of necrotizing fasciitis
Hard to diagnose. You need to be knowledgeable in the symptoms of this disease if you want to minimize potential exposure. After you injure yourself and the skin is broken, the first thing you need to do is, obviously, clean the wound thoroughly. But, say a few hours go by and you start to notice you are starting to feel pain, or you may feel sore. That expected because you hurt yourself. But you need to evaluate again in a few hours and make sure the skin does not feel feverish, look discolored, or swelling that seems to spread at an unusually fast rate. Other things to look for would also include and type of blistering, or black spotting on the skin. In most cases the pain associated with necrotizing fasciitis is beyond what is considered within normal range, depending on the type of injury you experienced.
Once you have went through the process of getting diagnosed the treatment can be painful and disfiguring. With necrotizing fasciitis the faster you get medical treatment the better. Like most infections this, too, requires antibiotics. However these antibiotics are among the most elite in terms of strength. Some of the antibiotics used depending on the severity are Celocin,

I have decided to analyze a news article of Necrotizing fasciitis, a flesh eating bacteria, to determine how the media socially distorts our view on how this infection operates. I will examine the difference how the media and popular culture can make this infection incite fear and horror among those who read stories of people that have become infected with the bacteria. Since the beginning of the colonial era in Canada and the initial clashes between French and English speaking Canadians, nationalist sentiment has fostered within the Quebecker mindset. It is not surprising, either, that French-Canadians have sought to maintain their distinct culture and also evade assimilation. Within this potentially volatile political atmosphere, the Quebec sovereignty movement has come close twice to realizing their dream of a Quebec independent from the rest of Canada. The omnipresence…
