MY PHILOSOPHY

PROFESSOR KENNETH CRAIG
I have always been very understanding of peoples beliefs. I understand that the world is made up of many opposing ideas and that no one person is fully correct. There are so many different groups and parties in today’s world that it is hard to know for sure which one to side with, but I believe that every single person is entitled to their own opinion and belief, and I also feel as though that has a lot to do with the way that we were raised. In many countries, people are pressured into all having the same way of thinking. However, in America, we are all told since the day that we are born to do what makes us happy and to believe whatever we think is right and just. I also believe that every person has a unique purpose in the world and that we all need to figure out what that is on our own. If everyone worked toward the same thing, the world would only consist of that one thing. That is exactly why we were all made unique and were trained to be individuals, rather than just part of a crowd. I believe that we were all born as blank slates and our parents, surroundings, and upbringing are the things that determine who we become. There are so many professions that someone can pick from, but each requires a different set of skills and interests, and since we are all unique we all want something different for ourselves.
In regards of religion, I went to a Catholic high school and after four years of learning almost every single thing I could about it, I’ve only really gathered one thing. This one thing is that if every person would treat each other with respect and only act out of love toward each other, the world would be a much better place. I don’t believe that every person should have to go to Mass every Sunday in order to be considered a good person. That doesn’t mean that I am against people who do attend Mass, they all believe in something. Whether it be true or not, that is their belief, and no one should tamper with it.
Since I don’t believe in religion, I am a huge believer in science. I live off the facts that have been proven over years of research, rather than what people have passed down by word of mouth. If I am not able to see something, I can never truly believe in it. For example, due to the fact that we have never found one, I do not believe in Bigfoot, as well as any other forms of mythical creatures. Science is science, and unless proven otherwise, I will always believe in what is solid and definite.
I don’t believe in perfection. I feel this way because everyone looks for something different in everything. There’s no such thing as the perfect job, the perfect parent, or the perfect person. Simply because we all make mistakes, if we didn’t we wouldn’t be human. There is no single person that could be called “perfect”, everyone has their own problems and everyone has something that they are

MY PHILOSOPHY Teachers and librarians often have a common goal: to educate the children they come into contact with every day and instill a love of learning into each student. Teachers are entrusted with the care of students every day and their parents send them to school with the thought that they will be taken care of, loved, protected, and watched over. Teachers and librarians have another common goal: to promote academic, personal and ethical growth and learning in students. Learning must…
Growing up in a family of 6 children, I enjoyed living with my younger siblings. I would always play with them and since I was the oldest, I did everything for them while my mom was out working. With the experience I had with my brothers, at the age of 11, I started babysitting for my neighbors. The kids were very lovely and I felt a bond between me and the kids. My dream was to go to law school after graduating high school but over the years I thought about being a Pediatrician because I love being…
Jae Lee COM 101 – ND Education has had a major impact on my life but before I get to that, let me start off by giving a brief introduction of myself. My full name is Jae Hyun Lee but I like to be called Jae. My family came here from Korea when I was 2 years old. Having grown up in Queens almost my whole life, I developed a “New York” lifestyle where the tempo of everything I do is fast paced. I used to not be able to communicate well with people who I am unfamiliar with but that has gotten better…
My Philosophy 2/13/13 Pd: 8/9 English-III Almost everyone has a philosophy, something they believe in to guide their judgment and to guide their life. In most cases they are different but sometimes they are the same. My philosophy is different from many people but it has some of the same basic principles. One of my philosophies is to do everything before…
My Teaching Philosophy Initially I believed that my philosophy of teaching would be the result of how I learned in school. Reflecting on my middle school years the majority of the instruction I received was through lecture. This included mathematics as well as science. I can recall coming to class and the teacher standing at the board writing notes on an overhead and we would copy these notes for the entire class period. This was very boring and not engaging but my opinion is…
Hi, my name is Shannon Everett, and I would like to talk to you about my personal definition of nursing. My personal definition of what a nurse should be was formed at a very early age for me. My mom and my best friend, was a RN, and the most wonderful ambassador for the profession. A nurse must possess a lot of different qualities. Of course she/he must be compassionate, this is a given, but also, so much more. The most important in the beginning of the nurse-patient relationship is trust,…
“One in four young adults choose 'unaffiliated' when asked about their religion...” You would think growing up in the home of an ordained minister I would be extremely religious, but I am actually quite the opposite, I am one of the “unaffiliated.” My father, a deacon, raised me to believe in whatever I want to believe. Being a leader in the church, he was exposed to many hypocrites. Hypocritical meaning the people that get blacked out drunk on Saturday night and come to church on Sunday morning…
My Philosophy. For me, arriving at my philosophy has been a really hard and soul searching task. The Collins English dictionary describes the word philosophy as any “system of beliefs, values or tenets” (Davidson, 2009, p123) but, what do I really think is important? What values do I want to support, instil and nurture (Stonehouse, 1991) in the children that I teach? I have spent the past couple of days searching through my textbooks for anything remotely related to the word philosophy, scanning…
My philosophy of Early childhood education is based on research that indicates that a child’s growth is developmental. Every child is unique in terms of life experiences, developmental readiness, and cultural heritage. A high quality early childhood program that provides a safe and nurturing environment, which promotes physical, social, emotional, language and cognitive development will ensure a positive continuation of the child’s education process In my philosophy I will talk about the goals…
Exploring My Teaching Philosophy Spring 2014 1. Why do you believe your students want to learn? Describe them as learners in any way you can. My students can be classified in two ways. Those that are at school to learn and grow towards a profession and then there are those who have to be here. The first group is in most cases not really aware of what lays ahead of them- professionally and in regards to the difficulty of the curriculum. By this I mean they really have no concept of what…
