MY PHILOSOPHY

I have always been very understanding of peoples beliefs. I understand that the world is made up of many opposing ideas and that no one person is fully correct. There are so many different groups and parties in today’s world that it is hard to know for sure which one to side with, but I believe that every single person is entitled to their own opinion and belief, and I also feel as though that has a lot to do with the way that we were raised. In many countries, people are pressured into all having the same way of thinking. However, in America, we are all told since the day that we are born to do what makes us happy and to believe whatever we think is right and just. I also believe that every person has a unique purpose in the world and that we all need to figure out what that is on our own. If everyone worked toward the same thing, the world would only consist of that one thing. That is exactly why we were all made unique and were trained to be individuals, rather than just part of a crowd. I believe that we were all born as blank slates and our parents, surroundings, and upbringing are the things that determine who we become. There are so many professions that someone can pick from, but each requires a different set of skills and interests, and since we are all unique we all want something different for ourselves.
In regards of religion, I went to a Catholic high school and after four years of learning almost every single thing I could about it, I’ve only really gathered one thing. This one thing is that if every person would treat each other with respect and only act out of love toward each other, the world would be a much better place. I don’t believe that every person should have to go to Mass every Sunday in order to be considered a good person. That doesn’t mean that I am against people who do attend Mass, they all believe in something. Whether it be true or not, that is their belief, and no one should tamper with it.
Since I don’t believe in religion, I am a huge believer in science. I live off the facts that have been proven over years of research, rather than what people have passed down by word of mouth. If I am not able to see something, I can never truly believe in it. For example, due to the fact that we have never found one, I do not believe in Bigfoot, as well as any other forms of mythical creatures. Science is science, and unless proven otherwise, I will always believe in what is solid and definite.
I don’t believe in perfection. I feel this way because everyone looks for something different in everything. There’s no such thing as the perfect job, the perfect parent, or the perfect person. Simply because we all make mistakes, if we didn’t we wouldn’t be human. There is no single person that could be called “perfect”, everyone has their own problems and everyone has something that they are
