Abstract This paper is about Proctor & Gamble transforms the way business is done. The writing tells by what means control, teambuilding, and communication can mark an organization. There are different categories of interpersonal forms of power. There are communication barriers that can rise in an organization to show how to overcome barriers. Leadership theories and forms of power Leadership theory tries to understand and explain the process between leaders and followers. Organizations require leaders to motivate, direct, and drive workers to move the company forward. A leadership theory attempts to understand and explain the process that occurs between leaders and followers. Theories on leadership was focused on traits and characteristics of the individual leader during earlier times. Emerging or current leadership theories emphasis leadership styles that reply to a variety of situations and condition of the individual qualities of the leader. Emerging leadership theories include situational theories on leadership was focused on traits and characteristics of the individual leader during earlier times. In the final half of the 20th century, leadership theories began to focus on situational and contingency leadership, which propose that leadership styles or the individual leader must adapt his style to the specific situation or traits of the workers. Traditional leadership Traditional leadership is put together on the mechanism of traditions, rituals .guidelines of habit. The habit to obey based on the belief in the sanctity of tradition and transfer of power by inheritance. The traditional kind of legality and traditional type of leadership continued to the present time. Interpersonal form of power Interpersonal power have influence over another person. Power is the ability of one person to influence what another person think or does. There are five forms of interpersonal power: reward which enables an individual to award positive reinforcement to employees; referent which enables an individual to influence others based on charisma or admiration; coercive which rests on being able to administer negative consequences; legitimate, which enables the individual to take advantage of his or her official authority; expert is when an individual utilizes knowledge or expertise that transfers to the circumstances needing influence. Reward and coercive power lead to compliance, but they both require the manager to be present to give out rewards and punishment. Legitimate power produces compliance. Referent power has been linked with organizational commitment. Expert power has the strongest relationship with employee performance and satisfaction. The profile that was created for the ideal leader for Proctor & Gamble in describing the most appropriate leadership characteristics in terms of leadership style and interpersonal forms of power is that Proctor & Gamble is recognized as a top company for leaders. Proctor & Gamble was ranked first on Chief Executive Magazine’s list of 40 Best Companies for Leaders (2012). It was named to the Diversity Inc. Top 50 Companies for Diversity (2012). It was also ranked among the National Association for Female Executives Top 50 Companies for Executive Women (2012). Proctor & Gamble attracts talent because of Proctor & Gamble reputation as a great company for leaders. Proctor & Gamble have leaders that communicate to stay connected which is critical to fostering innovation and market success. The characteristics that impact organizational performance are the challenges, staying connected, simplifying collaboration, implementation complexity, and the creating of opportunities for career at Proctor & Gamble.
