Eating Chocolate Makes Humans Healthier "Chocolate is the yummiest, tastiest thing in the whole wide world. Chocolate also makes you happy and makes you feel better "Katherine Howell states in The Story of Chocolate (13). Chocolate is something everyone devours. Chocolate helps the human body stay healthy. Wouldn't you rather eat chocolate than eat vegetables to stay healthy? There are three main types of chocolate: White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, and Dark Chocolate. Dr. Hartford, at Baylor College of Medicine, states, "Cocoa or dark chocolate positively effects the circulatory system" (11). Chocolate is very beneficial to the human body. Chocolate positively affects many different parts of the human body. The National Institute of Health has done studies about chocolate to understand what exactly it benefits. In the National Institute of Health Dr. Heather concludes: According to one study, chocolate consumption correlates with lower body mass index. Dark chocolate may lower cholesterol levels in adults. Although basic research has provided preliminary evidence that polyphenols in chocolate might inhibit oxidation of LDL cholesterol, few results from clinical trials are conclusive about such an effect in humans. Several studies have suggested that eating chocolate can help reduce the risk of certain cardiovascular problems and also reduce blood pressure in both overweight and normal adults (128).
