Good morning you honor members of the jury. My name is __ I represent the common wealth of Pennsylvania. To my left/right are my colleague _ __. Our first witness, Detective Seaver of the Monroe Police Department helped us get the evidence that Mr. Ventura was selling marijuana. Detective Seaver has known our second witness, Alex Braun for a while now. Detective Seaver has arrested Mr. Braun on numerous occasions for drug related crimes. Detective decided to try and help Mr. Braun by giving him a deal to lessen his sentence, which was being our confidential informant. Therefore, Alex Braun went to the house of Sam Ventura to purchase marijuana with marked money. However, Mr. Braun did not fully complete purchase for Detective Seaver by not delivering the marijuana. Being scared that we wouldn’t keep our deal Alex said that they took the marijuana from him and kept the money, but he also mention how Mr. Ventura had a whole lot of bagged marijuana in the living room waiting to be sold. Since Detective Seaver was Armed with Intelligence and obtained a search warrant for Mr. Ventura’s house. When they went into the house, Mr. Ventura asked if they were there to “share the pizza.” Mr. Ventura often referred to marijuana as pizza, so that was a sign he had people coming over to purchase “pizza.” When Detective Saver’s team searched the house, they found bagged green vegetable matter.
