1. What does a typical learning day for your kids after school look like?
Doing lots of Homework, getting ready for the next school day. Computer assignments…Reading plus…. kids go to the reading plus website to practice reading. Social studies, go online log onto student portal on the schools website. Everything is online for textbooks etc. Vmath live for math.
2. Does your kid use YouTube videos on top of classroom course work?
No. In school YouTube is blocked.
3. How do you supplement your kid’s classroom work with more extra practice?
Mainly Homework, field trips, my wife spends time with them on their projects. They are encouraged to read a book and then answer questions on the computer. Getsmart is a store I use to get a lot of books to supplement their schoolwork
4. How much money approx. do you spend on online courses per month?
We spend nothing for online courses.
5. What tools do you or your child use for course content at school or work…Blackboard?
Reading Plus, Vmath Live, Tickettoread. Smartboard.
6. How much time does your child spend on YouTube for course learning? Does he/she waste time on watching irrelevant videos while searching for relevant videos?
7. How does your child manage his/her class notes…does he/she have access to earlier year class notes when he/she goes to higher grades?
8. Do you like free course videos or are you ready to pay some small amount for quality course content?
I would rather pay for better quality content and personalized experience.
9. Did your child ever try to transcribe course videos to MP3 to listen on his/her phone/iPod?
Not yet probably because they’re still too young.
