Overview
The purpose of this project is to familiarize you with the process that should be undertaken when an organization seeks to create and staff a new position. Specifically, your team will administer two job analysis questionnaires, develop a job description/specification for a new position, develop a plan for recruiting and selecting applicants. Your written project should accomplish two objectives: 1) demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of material covered in MGT 460/560, and 2) make a clear recommendation of how your company will address its human resource needs. When writing your project keep both of these objectives in mind, it is not enough to simply state what you would do, you need to explain the reasons for your decisions. Each team will professionally present their plan to the class using presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Prezi). The presentation should include an overview of the job and include all major sections of the project. Do not spend more than one minute discussing the job description and specification. I expect questions from the audience and will be grading both the presenting team on their presentation as well as audience members on class participation. I expect everyone to ask well informed questions that give the presenting group an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge. Participation score. Each team member will complete a peer evaluation, rating the quantity and quality of each of their fellow team members’ work. After dropping the lowest rating, the remaining ratings will be used to assign participation scores. The average participation score will be used to weight individual case grades. For example, a group member whose participation score is 85% will receive a case grade of 76.5 if the overall group case score is a 90 (.85 x 90 = 76.5). Problems with individual group members should be brought to my attention a minimum of two weeks before the deadline.

I strongly encourage each group to schedule at least one meeting with me prior to project submission. The purpose of this meeting is to provide your group with feedback to improve your project before the final submission deadline. I will not meet with groups in the last week before the project deadline. Submission Guidelines.

Make certain you use headings to label each section of your report and include page numbers. In addition, on the day you present you will be required to submit a printed copy of your presentation.
