Recruiting Plan:
We will recruit applicants using online job forums such as Indeed and Monster. The relevant labor market is any person of working age (16+) that can legally work in the US. We are primarily hiring for skill. Our recruiting methods include two on one interview, which is structured, behavioral, sequential interviews held by the Bell Captain and an HR hiring team member. Our methods prevent discrimination through minimizing possible opportunities for bias by having more than one interviewer and structuring the behavioral interviews and questions to uniformly evaluate applicants. We will minimize small talk to ensure that non-sequitur information is not influencing the evaluations.
Selection Plan:
From the pool of applicants, we will use a hybrid of statistical and judgmental approaches. Statistically, we will screen based on our interviewing scorecards and ranked responses to questions. Judgmentally, we will screen out resumes with formatting, spelling and grammar errors. We will not screen resumes or applicants based on EEOC protections such as age, gender, nationality, race or religion. We will also not screen based on children, marital status or other non-job performance indicators. We are however, looking for leadership behaviors; sports or physical activities, club or community involvement and customer service experiences. Legal concerns include ensuring that women and older applicants do not feel that they are disadvantaged for those reasons and are given fair consideration.
