Congratulations and thank you for purchasing the build plans for the Personal Tracked Vehicle (PTV) go kart. This document was prepared based on the prototype vehicle you see in the picture above. This plan’s design will vary slightly in some areas, as attempts to improve over the prototype were included.

Section 2: Available Kit As will be mentioned in the upcoming Section 3 under build notes, you will need to have a fair amount of mechanical aptitude to build this go kart. Building this kart will also take a significant amount of time. Much time can be saved, and the need for some expensive tools can be eliminated by purchasing a kit. The purchase of a kit will also eliminate the need to order some raw materials. Kits come in a variety of levels from just piece parts, to fully welded frames, to all inclusive packages. With the purchase of increasingly inclusive kit packages, the mechanical aptitude necessary to build the kart reduces. In some cases, depending on the completeness of the kit, the build may be reduced to nearly just assembly using common hand tools. Section 3: General Information Go kart capabilities and limitations: This go kart looks like a tank or ATV but it is important to remember that this is simply a go kart with tracks instead of wheels.

This kart uses recycled tires with the sidewalls cut away as the track loop. Since no two tires are exactly the same there will be variations in performance.
