Who or what is responsible for the downfall of Macbeth? The meaning of tragic hero is the term that Aristotle defined as a character who was born nobly and also virtuously. But this personality also what caused him to be a tragic hero since he is easily manipulated. From Macbeth we can clearly see the conflict he has within himself and see the personality change from start to end. Macbeth’s desire for power led him to his own downfall, with the help of three witches’ prophecy of being the king, but because of the lack of information the witches give and also the feeling of being replaced was spreading in Macbeth’s heart.

Macbeth will not succeed on his own, without lady Macbeth’s help he will not have the courage to kill Duncan. “unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full Of direst cruelty” showed the wild side if lady Macbeth, if she wasn’t a woman she will have killed Duncan herself. She was greedy of what she has now after the witches prophecy, she thinks that her husband should get more than what he has now. After the murder of Duncan is when Macbeth mentally changed because after he got the crown he tried everything to keep his thrown. Although this incident was created by the three witches, it is not totally the witches fault because they told him the future but they didn’t ask him to murder any one, but they are definitely responsible for they did plant temptation in him, but it is Macbeth’s responsibility to let the temptation grow. Lady Macbeth can also be blamed to be too greedy, since she wants more but she could not do anything without her husband so she used the relation between her husband and her and convinced him to commit the crime.

Lady Macbeth plays a important role of Macbeth’s change in character because Macbeth tried to back off from murdering Duncan but she used her body and words and convinced him to murder Duncan. Macbeth is very weak in front of Lady Macbeth he will do everything she says. He can’t stand to be questioned whether he is man. When Lady Macbeth questions Macbeth’s abilities to be a man, this only made his desire for power increase even higher.
