Roar! When most people think of a high school sporting event, they think about the full stands with loud and cheering fans! One should also see the crazy student section that is louder than the rest of the stadium every single game of the year! On the other hand, walking into a Rock Falls High School sporting event is somewhat depressing because the student section is non-existent, and all the fans just sit there quietly, or the fans “talk trash” about the coaches. A rocket scientist is not needed to observe that Rock Falls High School has a very poor attendance rate at its own sporting events.
First of all, what truly is the problem? The problem that needs to be addressed is poor attendance rate at school sporting events. These sporting events include football, basketball, baseball, and more. At the previous football game, almost half of the fans left after half-time since the good part of the game just got over, the dancers and the band. Also, the fans do not show up to most of the games because some of the athletic teams are not very good. Who wants to watch a football game in the cold knowing that the team you are cheering for has no chance to win? Additionally, fans are not showing up because the crowd is not that fun. All the fans just sit quietly while the game is being played. The crowd always wants to feel like its presence is needed for the team to win! Unfortunately, poor attendance has been a problem for years upon years, but thankfully, some solutions to this dreaded problem have been proposed.
In order to solve this reoccurring problem, some generous people have devised a magnificent plan to increase attendance at these sporting events. To increase student attendance totals, the school should have a rowdie section for the duration of the year, so instead of having a rowdie section only in the playoffs, the school could have a rowdie section at every game in the season. Undoubtedly, the rowdie section will help the players perform better, and the rowdie section will increase student attendance drastically. Also, themed nights would go hand in hand with the rowdie section proposal. In reality, a themed night would increase not only the student attendance rate but also the general fan attendance rate.
