From all the movies I have watched within the last year there have been many captivating films.
One film that has stood out the most to me is Star Wars Episode V. The film has many attributes that make it captivating. The characters, special effects and costumes, story line, music, and setting were all key components to the pure delivery of the film. Star wars is a science fiction fantasy that takes place in a galaxy that is hundreds of thousands of years ahead in technological advances and currently ruled by an oppressive imperial government order. The story revolves around Luke Skywalker and his journey to save the galaxy from the tight grip of the galactic empire. The characters of the movie have a very important role towards the main idea of the story line.
The characters are Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Carisian, Yoda, Darth
Vader, and emperor palpatine. They also make decisions that affect the other characters in their own adventures. For example in star wars episode IV obi-wan Kenobi allows Darth Vader to defeat him only in order to assist Luke in the near future to get to Dagobah in Episode V. there are many interesting aspects about these characters. They each have a story to tell and they each have different skills that they incorporate with each other in order to defeat the empire. The special effects and costumes of this film is what give it its emphasis and push for a great experience of another world. There are special effects that bring a ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi to Luke in the vast snowfall planet of Hoth. These effects also bring a light saber to life in a duel between Luke
Skywalker and Darth Vader, in the under levels of cloud city. With every scene that passes by there are special effects and costumes incorporated to make a great overall look. Costumes in the film such as the wookkiee Chewbacca and Darth Vader are important and significant because of the texture and armor that diversifies them from anyone else’s. For example Darth Vader’s armor is technically an oxygen chamber that allows his lungs to function for his own damaged lungs cannot.
