Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course the student should: understand business processes be prepared to take a course in auditing be familiar with AIS software tools have a basic foundation required for the relevant portions of the CPA exam understand the importance of internal controls

Prerequisites
ACCT2332, ACCT3366, DISC 2373, 2.0 GPA, junior standing.

Accounting Information Systems, Custom ed. (ISBN 9781256588733) or 12th ed. by Romney & Steinbart (ISBN: 9780132552622).
Computerized Accounting Using Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0, 6th edition by Arens & Ward (ISBN: 9780912503424). Available online at www.armondalton.com or in the UH bookstore. DO NOT PURCHASE A USED or prior edition.
Microsoft Visio, trial version available online from Microsoft or available in the Bauer computer labs.
Adobe Acrobat, trial full version is available online from Adobe; the Acrobat reader version is not recognized by Dynamics. Any other PDF creator is acceptable as well. This software will not be used until mid-semester; make sure any trial period will continue through the end of the semester.
Microsoft Excel.
Lecture guide provided by the instructor (posted to Blackboard on the Instructor Materials>>Lecture Guide folder).
Assignments and other materials provided by the instructor (posted to Blackboard).
