Questions for Discussion and Journaling
I think it’s because people are scared to read it. They feel like they have to be great writers right off the bat and they’re afraid if someone were to read what they wrote they would get laughed at.
I could relate with Anne Lamott. I usually don’t know how to start off a paper and I would spend hours on the introduction; so, I typically just start off by writing a bunch of semi-coherent sentences and try to figure out in what direction I want to take my paper. By the time I get to the body I would get a “lightbulb moment” and I would go back an edit.
My favorite line was “I’d obsessed over getting creamed by a car before I could write a decent second draft” because I could totally relate to this. I often find myself wishing certain impending doom sometimes than to write a paper that I don’t know where to start.
She uses cuss words and other jokes to make the reader relate, stay engaged, and feel comfortable.
I never really figured out who the voice in my head is, but it’s not my own. When I’m planning out or writing something it’s always talking, at first I thought it was my own voice but t’s sort of different between when I’m just thinking in my head on a regular basis versus when I’m writing an important document.

Aya Abdulrahman Professor Rife English 1100 25 November 2014 Texting is Destroying English Can texting affect our English? The answer is yes, it can. It seems like I can’t walk anywhere without seeing at least one person glued to their phone screen typing away as fast as they can. “Adolescents reported receiving 46.03 and sending 45.11 text messages per day” (Cingel and Sundar 1310). The English language is like a beautiful ocean, when it's polluted, it becomes ugly and unwanted. Most people love…
all this or that i am all youve said, makes me happier than anything else. I'm sorry if I ever cost you pain or even started the arguments weve had in the past. If anything it helped me understand you and the situations we have to face in the future. I can't believe I'm saying this, not to offend you or anything but I never thought I've ever fall for another girl again. But girl... Do you have me falling for you. I've never felt this way with anyone for the longest time till I met you. Just something…
Although I completely agree and know that antiseptic environments are totally a problem I'm pretty sure that can't be the only thing and anecdotally I just can't believe areas with a large presence of pesticide and other pollution doesn't screw a lot of us up lol. I grew up in one of the most polluted areas of the country (surrounded by farms!) and although neither side of my family has any history of skin sensitivities or allergies and although I played outside and wasn't overprotected I definitely…
Navigation ² 25 Ways To Go Viral Earlier this year I spent weeks watching different videos on YouTube as a form of “research” (hey, it beats calling it wasting time!), to see what characteristics different viral videos had that could be replicated. The videos I studied had MILLIONS of views, and the results of my research are reproduced here in this blog post for your reference. My hypothesis is that going viral is not some lucky freakish phenomenon, but rather scientific and strategic…
6:02pm Well I can’t stop thinking about you right now, and I miss you every day but I don’t know why I miss you so much today. You know all I can do is think about how much I love you, I’m so far into this I don’t think id remember how to get back or how to be without you. I’ve let myself surrender to you completely, vie given you my heart in every way a person can give it without ripping it from their chest and handing it to you lol. I feel like any way I try to explain how much I love you and…

CYBERBULLYING Every day she comes home and opens Facebook and every day it’s the same thing people say “why is she still here”, “go die in a whole”, “slut”, “how much for night 1,2 LOL”. She finally can’t take it anymore; she finds a hanger and a belt. In less than two hours there are 3 police cars, 1 ambulance and 2 reporters outside her house. There all there for the same thing … the dead 16 year old girl and her suicide note. This 16-year-old girl is one of very many people in the United States…
